hmm, more words that he likes now....

boke (broke) - we have a snowman that when you plug him in he has pretty lights, but he makes lots of noise so we don't plug him in, mikhai wanted to know why, so we told him it was broke. now he has to let everyone who will listen that it is broke. and he tells you about ten times.
baby - another snowman has a baby snowman that pops out of his hat, mikhai likes to wait for it and then giggle when the "baby" pops out.
juice - EVERYTHING is juice, milk, soda, water, apple juice, etc.
pretty - we are learning about pretty stuff lately with all the lights. this past weekend we drove around and mikhai was so excited about seeing all the lights (that is until he passed out from so much excitement...lol)

sock
pone (phone) - he LOVES to answer the phone. even if it's not ringing.
ello, bye bye - i have a saved message on my phone from when they called while i was at work. it's so cute!

he now knows how to open doors. or rather, he is now tall enough to open doors and he delights in being able to get them open. locked doors don't even faze him either. example....our front door is almost always locked. mikhai, this past weekend, decided that he was going to try to escape. (this is the second time i have caught him doing this, but grama saw it for the first time and had a small cow) but he pushed a kitchen chair up to the front door, stood on it and was trying to work the locks on the front door so that he could open it. i am in soooo much trouble with that boy!

(i told MI about it yesterday and his comment was "if i had a mom like you, i'd try to escape too" after i got the shocked look on my face he laughed and said he was only joking. butthead)

oh boy is he throwing some serious temper tantrums. he's got the screaming and stomping feet down wonderfully. unfortunately. i try to talk him out of them cuz usually he's throwing a fit because i won't give him his food right away (because it's still scalding hot - i know, bad mommy, huh?) or something like that. now once i can get him to finish the screaming fit enough to listen to me, we do great. i try to explain to him what we are doing or try to get him distracted by having him help me with something else.

(i have to say that my mom really irritates me when it comes to his temper tantrums. she'll yell at mikhai when we're at home and tell him to stop throwing his temper tantrums, but when we're out or she's talking to someone here at work "he doesn't throw them for grama and grandpa cuz he knows better. we don't let him get away with those. he only does that to his mom." whatever mother. it doesn't matter if it's you or me or papa, he's gonna throw one if he wants. he doesn't get away with them with me either. if he's throwing a fit because he wants something, i don't turn around and hand it to him so he'll shut up. ugh, she just always sounds so high and mighty when she talks about how she does such a better job than me at raising my son.)

he's been doing this a lot at night when he's hungry and then again when he's tired and ready for bed. i've tried the last couple of days though, to have him walk around the living room with me and pick up his toys and put them in his corner and he loves to be able to turn of the tv and the light. he gets so excited when i let him do those. then we head upstairs to give krys and mom & dad a kiss then we go into the bedroom. when we actually get in bed i hide his cup and make him look for it. "where is it?! where is it mikhai?!" his eyes light up and he starts flinging the blankets out of the way and moving my pillows to find it. he's so funny the things that he gets excited over. lol

mikhai is just amazing me with everything that he is learning. yesterday at breakfast his food was still hot when i gave it to him so i told him to help me blow on it and cool it down. so here we are, both leaning towards his food and blowing on it. it's so cute cuz he purses his lips and blows little spurts of air onto the food.

i've noticed in the past that he'll do this on his own without any prompting from me and i'm just amazed at how much he retains the things we teach him. he understands that the food is hot and if he blows on it, it cools down.

pee (we're just on the verge of getting ready to potty train him. he's watching ms. tee teach another kid and he's soaking everything up like a sponge.)
