i checked last night after i got home and the second tooth that was trying to come up has broken the skin also. it's just a little bitty piece of the tooth, but it's a start!

:o) i had to send an e-mail to everyone here at work yesterday about mikhai's first tooth. lots of people laughed at me for it, but i don't care...lol i was excited.

just picked Mikhai up from the babysitter's house and guess what?!?!?! we have a tooth that broke through! momma is so excited!

wonder what other exciting things will happen this week!

i had a dream that Mikhai's father contacted me last night. he hasn't had anything to do with me since three weeks after i found out i was pregnant. he and his mommy didn't believe that i was pregnant. i "just wanted their money".

now i'm going through the dilema of do i file for child support and go through all that mess, or do i just leave him alone and not bother with it?

pros:
additional income to help with the cost of raising him
Mikhai will have someone to claim as a father figure (if he accepts that Mikhai is his)
this decision won't be hanging over my head forever

cons:
emotional torture
proving paternity and in turn giving him the right to make decisions in Mikhai's life (this is the hard one. i don't know that i want to relinquish control)

a lot of my problem (and i can admit it) is my stubborn pride. my zodiac isn't a bull for nothing! i could probably be the better person and call and let him know that he has a son (who is five months today!!!!). but we didn't stop talking on the best of notes. the last conversation we had was regarding his mommy not believing that i was pregnant and he said he would just tell her that i took another pregnancy test. i blew up at that. and then he didn't trust me to get some information to the doctor that afternoon. and being the stubborn person that i am, i refuse to budge when someone demands or isists i do something. and he tried to "insist" that things get done "this" way. that got stopped right away.

so, i feel that he dropped me and has had nothing to do with me this past year and if i call him i will be perceived as crawling back and begging him to pay attention. yeah, mostly pride there, but it's kinda hard to get rid of.

i drove myself crazy with worry cuz the nurse told me that we should go in to see the doctor and there is nothing wrong with Mikhai but a stuffy nose. no fever, no ear infection, nada. the doctor said that he has probably just discovered that there is something on the side of his head that he can play with (his ears). so not only am i out the money for the copay, i have time to make up at work.

well, we're off to see the doctor a little bit later this afternoon. i called the nurse to make sure that i was doing all that i could to make sure my Mikhai was comfortable while he was teething. i explained all the symptoms, pulling at his ears, stuffy nose with mostly clear but occasional green mucus, not finishing his bottle (which for my son is ODD), sleeping ALL day long (again, which for my son is ODD), he's got two teeth that are trying to cut through the skin so that is bothering him, i don't know if he's running a fever or not because i have kept him on tylenol all weekend for his gums. after all this, she said that most of these symptoms people misconstrue as symptoms of teething and they are not. so, she recommends that we make the trip (that i didn't want to make) to the doctor to make sure that he doesn't have an ear infection. yipee!
