it's so nice to see that my son is feeling better and actually eating dinner again. his Papa fed him last night and all i could do was laugh. Papa was making all kinds of noises while he was feeding him, but i guess that was a good thing cuz mikhai ate 1/2 a jar of peas, a whole jar of mixed veggies and 1/2 a jar of bananas. my little piggy!

looking at the picture of mikhai with santa, i see the first real signs that he's not a baby any more and he is slowly, but surely, moving into that category of toddler. God, it's going by so fast. yesterday he turned 7 months. it doesn't seem like it's been that long and yet it seems like a lifetime.

We went to the mall on Saturday to visit with Santa and I must say he was a very good boy. But I'm not all that surprised because under normal circumstances (when he's not sick) he is very well behaved. but I think this picture turned out wonderful! and he's so handsome.

okay, my son does not feel good and he's clingy and fussy. well last night we went out to dinner (my dad found a stolen 52' trailer from his job so they bought dinner for us) and mikhai was not the best baby in the world and my mom threatened to give him a spanking. i was very pissed about this.
for one, he's my son and i should be the one to say whether or not to punish him.
two, i don't think he came anywhere near deserving it. he is 6 months old, not 2 years, he does not know the "proper" behavior for going out. he has been sick and does not feel good and wants to be held and loved, not ignored. (she's a bitch when she doesn't feel good, but no one else is allowed to be cranky, ever)

i'm so frustrated with her.

when i went last month to get mikhai's bethanechol filled, the pharmacist came out and talked to me about the zantac that i have been giving mikhai. he said that he was reading in a medical journal or something that zantac has had long-term effects on babies who take it over long periods of time. he said that it has caused digestion problems and prevents their stomachs from producing any acid. the whole reason he has been taking the zantac was because he was producing TOO much acid and his little body couldn't handle it. i called the doctor's office and spoke with a nurse and asked how long dr. C. intended for mikhai to take the meds. she said that he had nothing written in the records to indicate when he wanted the medication stopped, but said that if i was inclined, i could cut back his doses and see how he does. so i think i'm going to talk to ms. tee (the babysitter/daycare) and tell her my concerns and ask her to help me try and wean him off the reflux medications. he actually hasn't had any since saturday night because he hasn't been eating really. when he would eat, it would only be like 2oz at a time. so that is in the plans for the near future. i'll keep posting updates.
