yup. that's it. he's only 8 months old, but he is doing things that one would expect from a 15-18 month old. i love picking mikhai up from ms. tee's. yesterday when we pulled up my mom noticed that he was standing in her front window with emma and ben waiting for mommy to show up. when i got out i walked in front of the window until he recognized me and the look of joy and surprise on his face was wonderful. that is one of the best things i have ever seen. when i got inside he was all excited and couldn't hold still. made me get this huge grin on my face that he was so excited to see me. ms. tee is going to have to repaint her window sill in the future cuz mikhai is at the perfect height to use the sill as a teething biscuit...lol. when i was looking in the window, all i saw of mikhai was from his nose up as he was chewing on the window sill...

while i'm in there, she tells me about his day and any changes i need to know about. well first off she tells me that she is giving me all his bottles back. he doesn't use them there any more, all he uses is the sippy cup. (this is one of those double take moments) "oh, oka--wha-! no bottles? at all?" nope. he doesn't even use one for nap time. hmmm, well that's cool. then she tells me that he got a diaper when she asked him to get it. wait a minute, he's not supposed to understand stuff like this yet. she said that she was floored. he didn't get one of his own diapers, but the fact that he understood what she was talking about and followed through with it is just amazing! i swear if i didn't know better, i'd think he was almost two.

this afternoon we're going to get a second flu shot that the doctor recommended he get. then as soon as we leave that dr, we're going to go see a new one. or rather, one that i'm hoping will be his new doctor. this lady was recommended by a woman i work with and when i told ms. tee this morning who we were going to see, she got excited. that's who her children used to see but the dr moved out of her network so they don't anymore. but she said the woman is wonderful and she would go back to her in a heartbeat. that's good to know.

mikhai had his first experience at CEC this weekend for his cousins birthdays and let me tell you it was sensory overload! we walked in the door and he couldn't stop looking around. he was trying to look in every direction at once, it was rather comical. :o) he rode two rides and couldn't sit still for either one. one of them was a large rocking horse that he was just trying to inspect EVERYTHING on that rocking horse and no matter how many times his name was called, he wouldn't look over at his grama to get his picture taken. little stink-pot. then the other ride was that car that they get their picture taken with Chuck E. on. in the picture you see him trying to get to the other side of the car to get the buttons that the lights kept flashing on. oh, well.

after about two hours of that place and all the noises and people and excitement, he had had enough. i was holding him in my lap and talking to some people when someone mentioned that he was asleep. awww, sweet baby.

i actually got some serious sleep last night! mikhai only got up once at 2:00am. while he was sick we were up multiple times per night. and some of those times he was hollering like he did before i had to put him on the medication for his tummy. he was arching his back and his tummy was tight and he was crying. at times when he cries, he sounds like someone who has lost their voice and can barely make a sound, but they are trying with all their might. it breaks my heart to listen to him like that. especially when my mom and dad yell at him for throwing a fit. he doesn't just sit down in the middle of the floor and cry for no reason. the only time he cries is when something is wrong. and bloody hell, he's only 8 months old!!!! he doesn't know how to sit there and say "mommy, i'm hungry", "mommy, i have a shitty diaper, please change me". i know my son is smart, but what the hell do they expect?!

my mom and i picked mikhai up from ms. tee's on monday and mikhai was tired. he has a tendancy to fall asleep on the way home (which is what, five minutes, if that) and then takes a nap once we get home. well monday i guess was an exhausting day and he was really tired and was crying in the car. mom said that he needed to "knock that off, because she won't tolerate it" pardon the french, but jesus f@&%ing christ woman don't you have any sympathy or understanding in your soul? he hasn't yet learned that no one is allowed to be anything but happy and sympathetic and understanding to YOUR needs, in your presence, otherwise they are labeled a "crab" and therefore not worthy of you. ugh, i could just pop her fucking head off.

okay, sorry about that. i got to writing about that day and just got pissed all over again. maybe later it will be better...

mikhai attended his first birthday party yesterday at the daycare.

one of the little girls that ms. tee watches turned 3 yesterday so she decorated the house and had party hats and cupcakes. she said that she lets each of the children put the icing on their own cupcake and she let mikhai do his also. she said he did pretty good too.

when i picked him up, i was greated with a smile and him in a party hat still. he's so adorable.

i had completely forgotten to tell ms. tee that he walked on sunday so when i got him i asked mikhai if he had walked for ms. tee and she said "YES!!! he was holding on to the toy stove and went forward and i thought he was going to fall but instead he took another step!" woohoo! that's my boy!

and to family reading this, yes you will get a picture so don't bite my head off that you don't have one yet!!!

D: i'm even giving one to hunter so that he can walk around the house with it and say "baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby" lol.
