 bye-bye

this was his aunt just a little bit ago when mikhai said "bye-bye" to her. (i TOLD her he says bye-bye)

he's also saying ba, ba, ba....and after listening for a little bit, it almost sounds like he's saying "papa". hmmm......maybe. (grama's not happy about that...lol)

let's see, what else is the little stink pot doing? walking all over, playing with the dog, chasing his aunt krys, trying to talk. yeah, he's doing everything!

as my girlfriends said this weekend "oh, he's just so cute!!!!"

 growing boy

*Last week, Mikhai and I went to my godmother’s place for dinner and when we were leaving, she was trying to get him to say bye, but being the stubborn monster that he is, he wouldn’t say it. BUT! The entire way home he was just a jabbering, (saying bye-bye). “Ba. Ba. Ba-ba.” He sounds like Donald duck! I told ms. Tee that’s who I thought he sounded like and she told me that she never would have thought of that, but after listening to him talk for a little bit, he sure does! Lol.

*He also is getting into things that he’s not supposed to be able to get in to until he’s older, MUCH older! He can open the cupboard doors in the kitchen and bathrooms. The doors under the microwave stand are held closed by magnets. He knows how to open those doors too. He can also open the drawers from my mom’s filing cabinet (they have handles that he pulls on). This little boy is too smart for his own darn good. If he is crawling somewhere and you stand in front of him to block him, he will try to go around your feet. If you step in the direction that he is trying to go around, he will move to the other side and try to go that way. One evening, he was trying to get the phone from his Papa. He spent a solid five minutes trying to get the phone out of his Papa’s hand. He figured out that he couldn’t get it one way, so he would move around Papa’s leg and try to get it that way. When that didn’t work, he tried something else. He was bound and determined to get that phone. The concentration on his face was amazing. Of course his Papa didn’t let him have it, but to watch him try and get it….

*This weekend his Grama and I noticed that he can stand up with out having to hang on to something. He was even doing this on Grama’s bed and that’s not a very steady surface!

*Yesterday Papa got breakfast tacos from Bigotes and Mikhai spent the entire time we were eating, walking between me, Grama and Papa getting bites of our tacos. I really shouldn’t let him do that, cuz when he’s older he will think that’s okay.

*Oh! And boy does the kid have a set of lungs when he wants to use them!!!! He hates, hates, HATES to be penned in. I figured out a way to keep Mikhai from going into the kitchen (by flipping over the coffee table) or down the hallway (by putting up the baby gate). He was fine with that situation if I was in the living room with him, but if I went into the kitchen (to get him something to drink) he threw a royal hissy fit! Wowsas! Make me feel like a big, bad, evil witch when all I was doing was getting him a cup ready so he could take a nap! Another example of him yelling at me…I penned him up in our bedroom, just for a minute so that I could use the restroom, and by the time I got back in the room his face was bright red and he was screaming at the top of his lungs. Krys even came in there, again, to ask if I needed help. No, he just doesn’t want mom to go out of his sight.

 glorious sleep

man, i had almost forgotten what it felt like to sleep for more than three hours at a time (which is what Mikhai has been doing to me for a while now). but last night we slept a whole five hours without waking up. he woke up about 3:30ish and that was just for more benadryl. once he got that, he passed out again and didn't even wake up to go to ms. tee's. it's amazing what a little sleep can do to a person. i actually feel a little refreshed and energized. (now if only it was friday... )

i got some pictures of mikhai's rash from the allergy reaction that once i get them downloaded to the computer, i'll put them in the gallery. my poor baby hurts.

 more thoughts

Let’s see, what other updates do we have? Hmmm…..Ms. Tee let us borrow her video camera and I have been using it almost every day film Mikhai running around the house, playing with Krys, playing with his papa, wrestling with the dog, etc. I have had soooo much fun! I’ve got about 4 minutes left on a 30-minute cassette. (and I’ve got two more blank ones that I can use!) :o)

Mikhai….has noticed the ceiling. We were at dinner with Grandma and Grandpa when they looked down at our end of the table and he was staring at the ceiling. Then they looked again and he was moving his head from side while tilting his head back to stare at the ceiling. He was checking out the whole visual differences, I think…..kinda like he’s on a trip or something…lol. He was doing that again last night and I got him on film this time….it’s hilarious.

OH!!! I’ve been meaning to write this down. Mom had commented late last week that she thought that Mikhai was feeling much better from the ear infection because he was talking more. Not necessarily words, but he has been making noises and just a jabberin’. He’s been working out different sounds and how they feel in his mouth. I need to see if this is just a coincidence or what, but the last two times that she has seen his papa in the evenings he has said something that sounds along the lines of “da”. I heard it rather well last night when he came home, but we’ll see if Mikhai continues. He has done everything so fast so far, I’m almost expecting him to just pop out one day with a conversation or something!

~Sorry for the novels lately, but I haven’t been able to get online at work as often so when I get a chance, I’ve got to make sure that I remember everything.
