This picture was taken this past Sunday at my grandparent's house. It's perfect, if I must say so myself.

this is going to be interesting. the "newsletter" from my work is going to feature an article next month about the differences between two working mothers. one mother has the support of a husband and the other one they want to feature is a single mother. yesterday ronnye told me she wants to use my story for the single mother. she wants me to write down how my day is with my son. what do i have to do that is compounded by the lack of help from the father. she said she is also going to make a mention of the fact that my son has such a wonderful relationship with my dad, that instinctively he is reaching out for a father figure in his life. she said i have a week before i have to get anything to her so we'll see how this goes. when it is printed, i'll copy it here so ya'll can see.

finally the little guy is clapping. out of the blue last night he just started clapping his hands. i've only been trying to get him to do that for about two months now. for some reason i was concerned. mikhai is so far advanced on the walking (now trying to run...it's so cute to watch him!) and he is so smart it's scary. but on some other motor skill developments, he just doesn't seem interested. i just wonder if there is more that i should be doing, if i'm lacking in some respect in my raising of him. i try to let him be independent, because that's what seems to make him most happy.

maybe i just need to let him develop and not expect any more miracles than what he has already given me.

my poor baby.

saturday was the start of soft-ball season for his aunt krys and they started out with a bang (they had a tournament). so we were at the firlds from 10:00 to 4:30ish. well most of the day was cold and cloudy. apparently so was my brain at that point because i completely forgot that you can still get a sunburn on a cloudy day. so i didn't put any sunblock on mikhai until it was too late. then, the sunblock that i did put on him, he had a reaction to. (my godmother still has my waterbabies.) the tops of my poor litte man's cheeks and ears are a bright red. yesterday while we were at grandma's for our early easter we noticed that he also has blisters on his cheeks. he just had a tough weekend.

he played in grandma's backyard for a long time yesterday. krys had her softball equipment out and was practicing and every time she would drop the bat to go chase the ball, mikhai was running across the grass to get the bat. she also has a t-ball stand on a home plate with a rubber ball attached to an elastic string....mikhai stole home plate a few times...lol. that boy is too big for his momma's liking!

i am so mad at myself. i got my digital camera in feb and i am just now trying to download the pictures onto the computer. (haven't had time) and all 142 pictures that were on the camera are now gone. i don't know what happened. i guess i wasn't paying attention to make sure that they were actually downloaded to the computer and i deleted the disk. oh i am so mad. it's a good thing no one was in here when i did it, i was making quite a bit of noise. but all my recent pictures on mikhai are gone. all the pictures of dan's birthday party, the pictures of mikhai's reaction to penicillin, pictures of mikey pitching last weekend (and i had some damn good pictures too!!!) all gone.

ARGHH!!!!!!
