A life's journey

 my baby

when i checked mikhai's mouth this weekend, i noticed that tooth number nine has broken the skin. his one year molars are here! (now maybe he won't drool as much! lol)

he's been drinking whole milk for a week now and seems to be doing great on it. i told ms. tee this morning that we can up the amount of milk to two ounces. he should enjoy that. she also told me that he is getting very territorial of her. if she is holding him and any of the other kids come to her, he starts to yell at them and tell them that they need to back off. lmao.

he has been talkin' up a storm and if you really listen to him, he is saying "happy birthday to you" a lot. he really likes that. :o) last night when we went to bed, he laid on me and drank his milk, but wasn't quite tired enough to fall asleep yet, so he was talking to me and playing for a minute. then it got really quiet and he didn't move. he had passed out in the middle of talking. i made sure that he was really asleep and then put him in bed. he woke up once, but i only vaguely recall hearing him cry. he must have put himself back to sleep because i didn't get up with him.

 Your Son & Mine

Momma's Little Buddy.

The miracle before my eyes.

A reminder of God's presence,

Every time I see him smile.

His laughter is a joy to my Heart.

His forgiveness makes mine pale when compared.

He makes me laugh with a sense of humor,

That he is always willing to share.

The little things that excite him,

Make me remember the kid I used to be.

It reminds me to enjoy every moment more,

Instead of letting the world get to me.

Above all I only have to look at him,

His momma's pride and joy,

To remember to thank my Heavenly Father above,

For my special little boy.

I understand now how much God loves us,

Every time I hold him tight.

God gave up the Son He loved so much,

To give us eternal life.

Thank You God For your Son and mine.

 happy birthday

my son was singing happy birthday with his grama last night! she said they tried to get him to say it to me on my birthday, but he wasn't quite ready to say it yet.

i told ms. tee this morning and she wasn't really surprised. she said that when she puts music on, mikhai has a blast. she asked me if i ever put music on and i said all the time. i am always listening to music in the truck and we listen to music when we go to bed at night. i love music and want to introduce him to as much as possible. as soon as he is old enough (and there is an all ages show that i can actually make it to) i will be taking mikhai to go see josh, christian and miah. (and any others that aunt cindy tells us about) :o)

 last night

HE SLEPT ALL NIGHT!!!!

he whimpered about 2:30 and i was going to get up in a few minutes to check on him and i guess i fell back asleep cuz when i did get out of bed to check on him, he was passed out again. woohoo!!!! *doin' the happy dance*

(now let's see if he does it again tonight)

he seems to be doing pretty good on the milk. when you first give it to him, he's not too happy about it because it's not as flavorful (if that's possible) as his formula, but i'm still giving him one scoop of formula when he goes to bed, just to give him a little something extra in his tummy.

 my mother

I’m sorry if this seems to be a pattern here of my bitching about my mother, but she takes many things upon herself in regards to my son that I really wish she wouldn’t. Here is another example of her being my son’s mother and making decisions for him. My mom told me one day last week that I needed to put him on milk since he is a year old now. I wasn’t going to do that until I talked to the doctor since he had previously had tummy problems. So during our appointment I brought up the subject of milk and his tummy. She said that I can start him on milk, but considering his past, she said to start him out with one ounce of milk to 7 ounces of water. She also said to graduate him to more milk than water at a very slow pace. I made the mistake of telling my mom that the doctor said it was okay. She asked when I was going to start him on it and I said on Tuesday when he goes to ms. Tee’s. She said I needed to start him on it right away. No, tomorrow. Well….she takes it upon herself (while I am at work and have no say!) to give my son a cup of milk and water.

Yeah, you’re probably thinking, what’s the big deal? It’s only one day. Well the big deal is, he is my son and what I want for him should be what she follows. Unfortunately, she does not respect my wishes and does whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and it irritates the crap outta me. One day she is going to do something I don’t want done and it’s going to cause some major problems between us.
