i was talking to a fellow mommy here at work and was telling her that mikhai can drink out a straw now and i remembered that i haven't posted anything in here for everyone else. so, needless to say (and i'm going to say it anyway..lol)...mikhai can drink out of a straw.

hmm, what else can he do?...
he can scare the crap outta his grama by climbing not only up the stairs but down as well with out help.

he can climb out of the tub. i found that out when i turned around to get his towel and heard a thunk. mikhai was on the rug and not in the tub where i left him. he hasn't quite gotten the GETTING in the tub figured out. he's still a little short for that, but i won't put it past him to climb onto something. he already climbs on coolers and stools and the people eater....

while listening to the ring tones on my phone he can scroll through the sounds. his grama says it's my fault that he likes music (too many concerts while i was pregnant). yup and i'm damn proud of it. i hope he continues to like it and go into music as a hobby. his mommy will support him all the way.

he knows where to go when it's time to go bye-bye. (although he prefers to drive and gets pissed at you when you won't let him)

mikhai is not afraid of the water. he went to his cousins' birthday party this past weekend and his grama said that he got in the water without a problem. played so much he fell asleep in the water and when he woke up, he wanted BACK in the water. she also said that he does not like ANY of the flotation devices that i bought him to keep him safe. he wants to be out in the water free like all the other big kids. my son thinks that he is a big kid. he's still just a baby and needs to stay that way for momma dammit!

hey sis (all of you) say a girlfriend prayer for me that this man interest pans out.

my son has a partial "bubba gump" lip. my niece was carrying him yesterday and he was trying his darndest to get away and he got away alright....with a fat lip. ms. tee said it was just bleeding and bleeding and he wouldn't let her touch it to stop it or put anything on it....it was the "make it better, but don't touch it" senario.

then (i'm not sure where he got this) he also has a small goose-egg on his forehead. nice and purple and black it is. but neither seem to bother him though.

last night we went swimming and my son is a FISH! he loved the water. grama and i were tossing him back and forth and he was just squealing and splashing and having an all around blast. he's not afraid of the water. he's not to keen on having it in his face, but that's not a big deal. if he gets used to it he'll be fine. i have to go tonight to buy him a life vest/float so that he can swim at Nanny's this weekend. the arm floats are just a little bit too big for him.

at one point his papa had him floating on his tummy and playing with a toy, but his aunt krys had to go over to him and try and play with him and wound up splashing water in his face which made him mad. so that didn't last very long.

his grama thinks that he will be swimming by the end of summer. we'll see......

i got to ms. tee's yesterday to pick up mikhai and his playpen is folded up and set by his diaper bag. i didn't think anything of it until ms. tee told me that mikhai will no longer be using it. he is sleeping on a mat on the floor with all the other big kids for nap time. he does everything else with the big kids (and honestly thinks that he is one). she said that he almost seemed relieved to not be put in the playpen. she put him on the mat and he looked at her like "are you for real? I get to sleep here??!!" then he looked at the other kids laying down and put his head down, then picked it back to make sure that he was remembering things correctly and was still being treated like the big kids. she said it took a couple minutes for him to settle down like everyone else, but eventually he fell asleep. i just remembered that i need to ask her how long he slept. previously he has had a tendency to either not take a nap at all or just sleep for 15-20 minutes. i wonder if he sleeps better like this.

but this is just the beginning of my little boy growing up into a young man....and he's only 1 year old (no, he's not 13 months yet!!! lol) ms. tee told me yesterday when i commented on this that it is partly my fault since i do treat him like a bog boy. i let him walk to the car and try to get in by himself and let him do things (i can no longer feed him, he has to do it himself unless he's just taking a bite out of what i'm eating). it's almost required with that boy. if you even try to treat him like a baby he yells at you and makes sure you know he's not.

oh but last night he was a little shit! he was getting into EVERYTHING!!! the little brat was moving the dog's jug of water, putting my dvd case in the water, getting into the cooler that's in the kitchen, getting into the PS2 games under the tv, getting into grama's avon and Lord knows what else. i finally got tired of running after him and getting him out of everything and plopped his little botton into the highchair. momma fixed that problem....lol
