i'm having trouble fathoming the fact that in 18 days my baby boy will be two. i can't believe how fast time has flown and yet it feels like he has been with me forever. he's such a smart boy too. hehe, i have the most interesting present for him too. for his birthday, i'm taking him to a rock concert. lmao. he's gonna go to the rockyard with me and cindy to see The Opus Flux, Bless the Broken and Exit 380. get that boy started early on what good music is. :o)

Wow, my weekend was LONG! Last Thursday was the start of the spring live racing season at LoneStar Park. and just also happened to be a mandatory work day for all employees (even those of us who don't normally work Thursdays cuz we have a life and kids...lol) so i worked Thursday here at my day job, then left to go straight there after i got off. I had forgotten how much fun that place is! I had a blast once i got back into the swing of things. We had several people who were new for the season and learning how to take the bets so i had someone shadow me the whole night and even with him taking some bets and getting some of the tips, i still walked out of there with almost $90 in tips. With it being the first day, there were several delays and late starts for some of the races so i didn't get to my car until midnight.

Then i had to get up at 5:30 the next morning. Now if i had just been up on the computer or something like that, i don't think i would have been as exhausted as i was Friday morning, but i got up and went to my day job. Thank God we get off early on Fridays so that I was able to take a little nap. After I got my son from ms. Tee I went to LSP Friday night. We had really bad weather in the area and that caused several people to stay home which in turn made my night of tips SUCK. I only got $30 in tips. Bleh.

Saturday was MUCH better. I was so busy, but it was a good busy. I walked out of there with over $120 in tips…awesome! Then I left there intent on getting to my date. Yeah, I said date. I FINALLY had a date with a man. I haven’t had one of those in almost three years.

But I’m getting ahead of myself in what I was trying to say. Thursday night on my way home, I noticed I had a voice mail on my cell phone. I listened to it and thought it was a wrong number or something. Well Friday morning when I got up, my mom came in my room and told me that I had a visitor at the bowling alley Thursday night (we bowl on a league with work). She said that someone came up there to surprise me. (and I wasn’t even friggin there. Damn…lol). That someone was a guy that I used to work with that I had a thing for, but he was having issues at the time so nothing happened between us. Well apparently his issues are worked out cuz he wants to date me now. He even asked mom and dad if I was seeing anyone or if I was available. Oh hell yeah I’m available!!! ;o) I didn’t actually talk to him myself until Friday before I went to work at LSP, but he gave me his mom’s number and said that I could call him any time that I wanted. He actually sounded excited to talk to me and hear from me.

So Saturday on the way to work I called and asked if he wanted to do something after I got off work, he said yes (finally!) and so we had a date set. We actually didn’t wind up leaving my house until about 10:30 pm cuz he was helping his cousin move but we went to a pool hall and played a few games of pool and had a few drinks and unfortunately the night wasn’t very long cuz my ass was tired and I felt like I was gonna drop where I was standing. So he took me home, took the long way to get there too so that we could have a little more time together. Then he walked me to the door like a gentleman and I got my kiss. I’ve only been waiting for that damn thing since June of last year! And wowsas! I must say that I like the man that he is now better than the one before. He actually seems happy and we already have the next date planned. He said that he would take me out to dinner next Saturday, and it wouldn't be at 10:30...lol. go me, go me!

okay, so mikhai is doing great. i can't believe it, but he's almost two now. in just over a month he'll turn two. he is so smart, it scares me. he really believes that he can do anything that the other kids can do and nothing is going to stop him from doing them. he's working on potty training right now, and we aren't having any issues. if you ask him if he needs to go, he will tell you yes or no. and if he tells you yes, he really uses the big-boy potty.

his room has been cleaned out and his bed and dressers put in there, so now he has his own room to sleep in. he loves it too. we'll be folding laundry in grama's room and it will get quiet so i'll go look for him, he's just sitting in the floor in his room playing with his toys. he's perfectly content to occupy himself. well, most of the time that is....lol. but he does really good. last night he slept until 5am in his room which is really good. i was thrilled that i got that much sleep before he woke me up! lol.

i have a very recent picture here. this one was taken just this past weekend for easter. doesn't he look like such a big boy?!?! haha, i showed this picture to a guy at work who see's him quite often and he asked me who the kid was. uh, that's my son. "wow, that doesn't look like that baby you had. looks like a big boy." ugh, don't i know it!

well, it's been a few days since i was in here to post anything...sorry. the last couple weeks i've been kinda occupied with something, or rather getting something. it hasn't worked out yet, but i have faith. (snicker) so anyway, on to my son. the little shit that i want to hang by his toes sometimes. he turns two next month and we have already hit the serious temper tantrum stage. stomping the feet, flailing the arms, jumping up and down, screaming at me, etc, etc.... it gets really old, really fast. and really annoying when my mom and dad try to provide their input. i think things would be a lot better if they stayed their fat noses out of our fights. mikhai knows that they will say something when i don't. i ignore his ass when he's throwing a fit and they sit there and get onto him. that's what he's looking for. attention.

oh, we had a big fight last week. we were getting milk for bed and he did NOT like the cup that i had picked out. he wanted a cup that had a straw and he can't take that to bed, mom says no to that. so he threw a fit. i tried to ignore him, mom and dad yelled at him and wound up taking him into their room. now tell me that boy is not spoiled fucking rotten by them. when he finally came back in my room he kept asking for milk and i kept ignoring him. if you can picture two bulls charging at each other and knocking heads, that would be me and my son. well, in this contest of wills, i won. he passed out with no milk. but he woke up at 1:50 to start the fight again. i wouldn't give in. i think after about 30 minutes of listening to him scream at me for more milk, i'd had enough. i pinned him on the floor so he would look at me and told him that if he wanted milk, it was in the cup, but momma was leaving the room. with that, i walked out and closed the door. oh, he went apeshit. he did NOT like me leaving. i let him cry for a minute or so then i walked back in. i asked him if he was upset that momma walked out. "yeah" well, momma is upset that you're crying, you need to stop "okay" it took him about ten minutes, but he finally calmed down and decided that he wanted his milk. boy that was a long night and the first of many like that i'm sure.
