my son is arguing with me already. well, let me rephrase that. he's been arguing with me for a while now, but last night he used words. two simple words. but he got his point across.

he was really cranky last night when we got home so i thought he might need to take a quick nap. (he had other ideas.) i got him a cup of milk ready and was walking into the living room trying to get him to drink the milk and get comfortable. every time i tried to bring it to his mouth, "no, no, mum". here mikhai..it's milk, "no, no, mum". but it's milk, you like milk, "no, no, mum". all the while shaking his head no at me, as if i didn't get the point with his words. so i gave up on that. and wound up giving him a little bitty cup of potatoe chips until dinner was ready....which he helped me make. mikhai loves to help. no matter what you are doing and how much of a mess he makes "helping"....he has to be right there with you.

*how observant my son is: ms. tee tells me yesterday when i pick mikhai up that my son is a stinker. for their afternoon snack, she gave him his ice cream cone first (cuz he has to be served first or he gets all bent out of shape...[my girlfriend says that she is spoiling him...yup]) with just one scoop cuz he's still a little smaller than the other kids. he was fine with that......until he noticed that the other kids all had two scoops of ice cream on their cone. he then held his cone out for her and let her know that what she gave him was not enough and that he is not to be treated differently than anyone else in the room.

last friday mikhai had his 15 month check-up. he's a monster. he weighs 28 1/2 pounds and is 32" tall. that puts him in the 75th percentile for both his weight and his heigth. she asked me a bunch of questions about how he was acting.
is he climbing, yes.
is he running, yes.
does he say phrases, yes.
what kind? no, mum. stop it. get it. i got.
what words does he say, mum, gama, dog, milk, juice, bubbles (this is so cute!!), etc.
about how many, 20+
does he throw a temper tantrum, yes.
what do you do about it, ignore him or put him in the naughty chair if the tantrum deserves it. (getting into grama's computer)

that boy was ALL OVER the exam room! gettin into the trash can, trying to open the door, trying to get her papers on the table, climbing onto the stool, getting into his diaper bag. i was wore out by the time she was done with him. and then they tell me that he is getting a shot. oh! that's nice to know. i didn't bring his shot record with me. but this time he only got one shot. they combined the MMR and the chicken pox into one shot which is a blessing. on his 18 month check-up though, he will get two vaccine shots and a flu shot.

the doctor's parting words as she left were "i just can't wait to see how big he is going to be next time he comes in"

mikhai got a fat lip thursday while he was at ms. tee's. i called her in the evening to find out what happened since my sister picked him up (and didn't even realize that he had busted his lip). ms. tee said that mikhai had just taken a toy from ben and was running away from him. he tripped over his big feet i guess, but when he fell, he bit his lip pretty good. ms. tee said he started crying and when she picked him up all she saw was blood. it wasn't bad, but she didn't know where it was coming from. once she picked him up and was trying to clean his face, he was then fussing because he wanted down. bumps and bruises don't faze him for very long. (*knock on wood*) he hasn't hurt himself really bad....yet.
