my son has a partial "bubba gump" lip. my niece was carrying him yesterday and he was trying his darndest to get away and he got away alright....with a fat lip. ms. tee said it was just bleeding and bleeding and he wouldn't let her touch it to stop it or put anything on it....it was the "make it better, but don't touch it" senario.

then (i'm not sure where he got this) he also has a small goose-egg on his forehead. nice and purple and black it is. but neither seem to bother him though.

last night we went swimming and my son is a FISH! he loved the water. grama and i were tossing him back and forth and he was just squealing and splashing and having an all around blast. he's not afraid of the water. he's not to keen on having it in his face, but that's not a big deal. if he gets used to it he'll be fine. i have to go tonight to buy him a life vest/float so that he can swim at Nanny's this weekend. the arm floats are just a little bit too big for him.

at one point his papa had him floating on his tummy and playing with a toy, but his aunt krys had to go over to him and try and play with him and wound up splashing water in his face which made him mad. so that didn't last very long.

his grama thinks that he will be swimming by the end of summer. we'll see......

i got to ms. tee's yesterday to pick up mikhai and his playpen is folded up and set by his diaper bag. i didn't think anything of it until ms. tee told me that mikhai will no longer be using it. he is sleeping on a mat on the floor with all the other big kids for nap time. he does everything else with the big kids (and honestly thinks that he is one). she said that he almost seemed relieved to not be put in the playpen. she put him on the mat and he looked at her like "are you for real? I get to sleep here??!!" then he looked at the other kids laying down and put his head down, then picked it back to make sure that he was remembering things correctly and was still being treated like the big kids. she said it took a couple minutes for him to settle down like everyone else, but eventually he fell asleep. i just remembered that i need to ask her how long he slept. previously he has had a tendency to either not take a nap at all or just sleep for 15-20 minutes. i wonder if he sleeps better like this.

but this is just the beginning of my little boy growing up into a young man....and he's only 1 year old (no, he's not 13 months yet!!! lol) ms. tee told me yesterday when i commented on this that it is partly my fault since i do treat him like a bog boy. i let him walk to the car and try to get in by himself and let him do things (i can no longer feed him, he has to do it himself unless he's just taking a bite out of what i'm eating). it's almost required with that boy. if you even try to treat him like a baby he yells at you and makes sure you know he's not.

oh but last night he was a little shit! he was getting into EVERYTHING!!! the little brat was moving the dog's jug of water, putting my dvd case in the water, getting into the cooler that's in the kitchen, getting into the PS2 games under the tv, getting into grama's avon and Lord knows what else. i finally got tired of running after him and getting him out of everything and plopped his little botton into the highchair. momma fixed that problem....lol

when i checked mikhai's mouth this weekend, i noticed that tooth number nine has broken the skin. his one year molars are here! (now maybe he won't drool as much! lol)

he's been drinking whole milk for a week now and seems to be doing great on it. i told ms. tee this morning that we can up the amount of milk to two ounces. he should enjoy that. she also told me that he is getting very territorial of her. if she is holding him and any of the other kids come to her, he starts to yell at them and tell them that they need to back off. lmao.

he has been talkin' up a storm and if you really listen to him, he is saying "happy birthday to you" a lot. he really likes that. :o) last night when we went to bed, he laid on me and drank his milk, but wasn't quite tired enough to fall asleep yet, so he was talking to me and playing for a minute. then it got really quiet and he didn't move. he had passed out in the middle of talking. i made sure that he was really asleep and then put him in bed. he woke up once, but i only vaguely recall hearing him cry. he must have put himself back to sleep because i didn't get up with him.

my son was singing happy birthday with his grama last night! she said they tried to get him to say it to me on my birthday, but he wasn't quite ready to say it yet.

i told ms. tee this morning and she wasn't really surprised. she said that when she puts music on, mikhai has a blast. she asked me if i ever put music on and i said all the time. i am always listening to music in the truck and we listen to music when we go to bed at night. i love music and want to introduce him to as much as possible. as soon as he is old enough (and there is an all ages show that i can actually make it to) i will be taking mikhai to go see josh, christian and miah. (and any others that aunt cindy tells us about) :o)
