i've been trying to get some photos added to my gallery to put in here to show ya'll, but all day long i've gotten a "page cannot be displayed" error. argh! so when i get the photos uploaded, i'll post it, but on to what i was going to write about.

i've been noticing when mikhai is playing that he doesn't usually sit down. he is either standing or squating, like a catcher. and he will stay in the squat position for what seems like ever. the picture that i was going to upload was one of him in the "squat" watching his aunt krys play ball with papa. i swear he stayed in that one position for five minutes. (he even does that in the tub.)

my son is a little oink, oink. tuesday night when we went to go see dan in the hospital, mikhai and i stopped at sonic for dinner. i got mikhai a corn dog. that little pig ate everything off that stick. even the crunchy breading attached to the stick. he is really learning how to use those 8 teeth of his.

last night we just had hot dogs for dinner. well they were hot so i had to let mikhai's cool off. in the meantime, while pestering me in the kitchen for his food, he see's his papa walk by with a plate. soon as that happens, i become chopped liver and he takes off after his papa. papa sits down and has to hold his plate right up by his face so that mikhai can't reach it and try to steal his food. mikhai was standing between papa's legs, beating on his stomach and doing his "mmmmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmmmm" speech. finally i think his hot dog is cooled off enough so i put him in the highchair and give him the whole hot dog. by the time that i had gone back into the kitchen, grabbed my food and drink and sat down, mikhai had almost completely devoured his hot dog. i really don't even think that boy breathed between bites. so i get him another one. he ate the entire thing. he didn't even make a mess! that boy knows where the food is supposed to go when he likes it. now if he doesn't like it, it winds up everywhere BUT his mouth!

i knew the way mikhai slept sunday night was too good to be true. he only slept like that because he was worn out from all the playing outside that he did on sunday. i was really hoping that now would be the time that he starts sleeping on his own throughout the night, but it ain't so. he tossed and turned and fussed and whined most of the night. then he decided at 4:15 this morning that it was time to get up and play. momma said it wasn't and eventually, 45 minutes later, he fell asleep. must be nice to be a baby that young.

i've said before how observant my son is, but i am just amazed every time i see this truth first hand.

while taking a shower, when we are almost ready to get out, i will pick up mikhai and hand him his tooth brush. then i will get mine and put the tooth paste on it and start brushing my teeth. i make sure to face him and show him what i am doing with the tooth brush and mikhai will stare with intese concentration at what i am doing and mimic my motions with his tooth brush.

the intelligence in this little boy is just amazing

i started working at LSP last weekend and when i got home on saturday, i greeted my son, (that was wonderful...he was so excited to see me!) and as i was holding him and hugging him, my mother tells me, "before you notice, he might be getting a black eye." ooohhhkkkaayyy??? what happened?

well, they were in the back yard getting everything ready for an easter egg hunt the next day and mikhai was in his stroller just playing peacefully so they didn't buckle him. big mistake. NEVER leave my son somewhere that he is not restrained. he will get out of whatever it is otherwise. so he tried to get out of the stroller by sliding out under the tray. unfortunately, his head got stuck. and his feet did not reach the floor. so he was hanging (all 25-30 pounds of him) by his eye socket. on sunday, underneath his right eye was kinda puffy and there was a really red spot, but after what, three days now, it doesn't look so bad.

i'm really gonna have to re-think the whole situation with my mother watching mikhai if i'm gonna come home every weekend and hear that something worse has happened to my child!
