Wow, where to start. It’s been days since I last posted anything and a lot has happened….Mikhai had his first Christmas!!!
My doctor’s appointment last week went fine. The doctor took a closer look through this camera thing and said everything looks good. We’ll just keep an eye on things over the next year.
Friday: mom and I had the day off from work and spent most of the day trying to get ready for the party we were having for my sisters and godmother. That went well, especially considering that my mother and I got in a fight because she was beating the crap out of my little sister and I couldn’t listen to it anymore, but the party went well considering.
We have a tradition at this party that all the adults buy $20 worth of lottery ticket scratch-offs and put them in an envelope. When it’s time to open presents, each of the adults picks an envelope and gets to scratch the tickets. Normally, we don’t have very big winners, but this weekend my godmother’s husband won over $60. I was the ultimate loser and only won $2.

Presents: Mikhai got this really adorable baby’s 1st Christmas Hallmark ornament from my godmother. It’s a puppy dog that is wearing a pair of pajamas and is sitting in a Johnny Jump-up.
Saturday: mom and dad went shopping early in the morning and krys, Mikhai and I got ready to go to my BIL’s parent’s house for another Christmas celebration that afternoon. They called when they were almost there and we got things together, ready to walk out the door and I put Mikhai in his car seat. I go to put the car seat in the base that’s in the car and it’s not there. I look in the car a little bit more and hey! there’s a toddler car seat in there!!! COOL!!! Although now I have to take Mikhai out of the infant carrier and put him in the toddler car seat. Stinkin’ parents! Lol. The new car seat is a nice one too. Most of the ones that I had been looking at online and at the stores only go up to 40 pounds or so. With the way that my son is growing I would have to buy an new one again in just a few months! This car seat is safe for up to 100 pounds. That will last us quite a while.
So after I played with the new toy I got, lol, we went to my BIL’s parent’s house. Before eating we stand in a circle holding hands and give blessing. At thanksgiving someone started “The Hokey-pokey” after the blessing was said and Saturday, they tried to do the hokey-pokey BEFORE the blessing. People, I’m waiting on food here, please shut up! Dinner here was great! The turkey was so good. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
Presents: Mikhai got a set of pots that stack and play music and the alphabet and have shapes to insert into the holes and an adorable outfit. It’s forest green corduroy coveralls with a really soft tan animal on the front and there is a corduroy hat to match. So cute! The hat is a little big at the moment but the outfit is 18 months so it’ll fit in a few months.
Sunday: I could shoot my little sister. We didn’t get done playing Santa until about 1:30 am. By the time I was done and getting ready for bed Mikhai decided it was time to wake up and eat, so I didn’t get to bed for a little while after that. Well little sis decides that 6:30 is a wonderful time to wake up big sis for Christmas, Mikhai is, at this point, still sleeping. Every other year we have had to wake her happy butt up because she is still sleeping at 7:30-8:00. So we all trudge downstairs and krys is making so much noise that she wakes Mikhai up. Argh! Well we hand presents out and start opening. Mikhai wasn’t having anything to do with the tearing of the paper. J Even with all the paper and presents out in the middle of the floor, the only things that he really played with were the boxes that we put clothes in and his old toys. Goofy child. (but momma loves him anyway) Before we picked all the trash up from the floor we put Mikhai in the middle and took a picture of him. He just gave us one of those “what are you doing” looks.
Presents: Pajamas!! (we needed those. Almost all the pjs he has now are getting too small) Little Taz slippers! You have to understand, I’m a Taz freak, so this was perfect in my opinion. I have a pair myself so we both ran around the house in our slippers on Sunday and I got a picture of our feet together in our slippers. He also got the Fisher-Price dinosaur toy. It comes with balls that you put in the holes and the dinosaur plays music and lights up and roars. It’s cute. Mikhai didn’t play with it too much, he doesn’t understand how to put the balls in the holes yet, but he can stand up using the toy as a support. Grama and Papa got him several additional sets of balls to use on the toy so we now have 34 of those things floating around the house. Let’s just hope that no one steps on one and falls down…lol. I got him some outfits, a cabbage patch baby, a book with a baby bunny stuffed animal, and the bucket of squares, triangles, circles and stars that has the shapes cut out of the lid. Finally, the most adorable gift from his Aunt Krys…a little 6” baseball glove. O.M.G. this thing is just too cute!
When things finally calmed down enough after my sister and her kids and my grandparents had eaten and presents had been opened, Mikhai took a nap. For three hours. The poor little guy was exhausted. Then not long after he had woken up, it was bed time and he was ready. Lol.
Monday: for Christmas, dad got a 32” tv and an entertainment center that it would fit in so we spent all day yesterday rearranging the living room and putting the entertainment center together. I have so many scrapes and scratches that I look like I was drug through a brillow patch.
OH!!! I almost forgot! This weekend Mikhai started using a sippy cup and eating fruit and veggie puffs. He only tried to turn blue a few times this weekend, but all-in-all, he did really good with everything.
