 stink-pot

mikhai was a little stink-pot this morning. he woke up about 4:30ish and was just fussy for the next hour and half.
i tried cuddling with him
i tried patting his back
i tried to put him in his car seat (normally he crashes as soon as he gets in the thing)
i tried giving him a bottle (which he just drank and then fussed some more)
to no avail.

it's exhausting work trying to deal with that so early in the morning when i'm not even really awake. you know what the little stink-pot did do? as soon as i put him in the car and started it he passed out. argh! i told ms. tee that i hope he sleeps for her cuz he hasn't for me. she gets him out of the car seat and he is a dead weight. out cold.

now why couldn't he have done that for me so that i could get some more sleep?

i can't believe i forgot to mention this

after going through and reading my last post again, i can't believe i didn't mention the latest milestone in mikhai's growth!!!

he is standing up without support!

i walked into the room the other day and he was standing by the couch with a toy in his hands. and throughout the weekend if you stand him up and then let go once he has his balance, he would stand there for a little bit until he either squatted down to sit down again or he fell.

my cousin's baby came over yesterday to open their presents and her son is 9 months old and is just starting to walk. when they got there, larry stood up and took off walking towards something and mikhai jumped up like he was going to follow, but he just stood there and then squatted back down like he had thought better of that. (maybe he needs to spend more time with larry...lol)

 Christmas weekend

Wow, where to start. It’s been days since I last posted anything and a lot has happened….Mikhai had his first Christmas!!!

My doctor’s appointment last week went fine. The doctor took a closer look through this camera thing and said everything looks good. We’ll just keep an eye on things over the next year.

Friday: mom and I had the day off from work and spent most of the day trying to get ready for the party we were having for my sisters and godmother. That went well, especially considering that my mother and I got in a fight because she was beating the crap out of my little sister and I couldn’t listen to it anymore, but the party went well considering.

We have a tradition at this party that all the adults buy $20 worth of lottery ticket scratch-offs and put them in an envelope. When it’s time to open presents, each of the adults picks an envelope and gets to scratch the tickets. Normally, we don’t have very big winners, but this weekend my godmother’s husband won over $60. I was the ultimate loser and only won $2.

Presents: Mikhai got this really adorable baby’s 1st Christmas Hallmark ornament from my godmother. It’s a puppy dog that is wearing a pair of pajamas and is sitting in a Johnny Jump-up.

Saturday: mom and dad went shopping early in the morning and krys, Mikhai and I got ready to go to my BIL’s parent’s house for another Christmas celebration that afternoon. They called when they were almost there and we got things together, ready to walk out the door and I put Mikhai in his car seat. I go to put the car seat in the base that’s in the car and it’s not there. I look in the car a little bit more and hey! there’s a toddler car seat in there!!! COOL!!! Although now I have to take Mikhai out of the infant carrier and put him in the toddler car seat. Stinkin’ parents! Lol. The new car seat is a nice one too. Most of the ones that I had been looking at online and at the stores only go up to 40 pounds or so. With the way that my son is growing I would have to buy an new one again in just a few months! This car seat is safe for up to 100 pounds. That will last us quite a while.

So after I played with the new toy I got, lol, we went to my BIL’s parent’s house. Before eating we stand in a circle holding hands and give blessing. At thanksgiving someone started “The Hokey-pokey” after the blessing was said and Saturday, they tried to do the hokey-pokey BEFORE the blessing. People, I’m waiting on food here, please shut up! Dinner here was great! The turkey was so good. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Presents: Mikhai got a set of pots that stack and play music and the alphabet and have shapes to insert into the holes and an adorable outfit. It’s forest green corduroy coveralls with a really soft tan animal on the front and there is a corduroy hat to match. So cute! The hat is a little big at the moment but the outfit is 18 months so it’ll fit in a few months.

Sunday: I could shoot my little sister. We didn’t get done playing Santa until about 1:30 am. By the time I was done and getting ready for bed Mikhai decided it was time to wake up and eat, so I didn’t get to bed for a little while after that. Well little sis decides that 6:30 is a wonderful time to wake up big sis for Christmas, Mikhai is, at this point, still sleeping. Every other year we have had to wake her happy butt up because she is still sleeping at 7:30-8:00. So we all trudge downstairs and krys is making so much noise that she wakes Mikhai up. Argh! Well we hand presents out and start opening. Mikhai wasn’t having anything to do with the tearing of the paper. J Even with all the paper and presents out in the middle of the floor, the only things that he really played with were the boxes that we put clothes in and his old toys. Goofy child. (but momma loves him anyway) Before we picked all the trash up from the floor we put Mikhai in the middle and took a picture of him. He just gave us one of those “what are you doing” looks.

Presents: Pajamas!! (we needed those. Almost all the pjs he has now are getting too small) Little Taz slippers! You have to understand, I’m a Taz freak, so this was perfect in my opinion. I have a pair myself so we both ran around the house in our slippers on Sunday and I got a picture of our feet together in our slippers. He also got the Fisher-Price dinosaur toy. It comes with balls that you put in the holes and the dinosaur plays music and lights up and roars. It’s cute. Mikhai didn’t play with it too much, he doesn’t understand how to put the balls in the holes yet, but he can stand up using the toy as a support. Grama and Papa got him several additional sets of balls to use on the toy so we now have 34 of those things floating around the house. Let’s just hope that no one steps on one and falls down…lol. I got him some outfits, a cabbage patch baby, a book with a baby bunny stuffed animal, and the bucket of squares, triangles, circles and stars that has the shapes cut out of the lid. Finally, the most adorable gift from his Aunt Krys…a little 6” baseball glove. O.M.G. this thing is just too cute!

When things finally calmed down enough after my sister and her kids and my grandparents had eaten and presents had been opened, Mikhai took a nap. For three hours. The poor little guy was exhausted. Then not long after he had woken up, it was bed time and he was ready. Lol.

Monday: for Christmas, dad got a 32” tv and an entertainment center that it would fit in so we spent all day yesterday rearranging the living room and putting the entertainment center together. I have so many scrapes and scratches that I look like I was drug through a brillow patch.

OH!!! I almost forgot! This weekend Mikhai started using a sippy cup and eating fruit and veggie puffs. He only tried to turn blue a few times this weekend, but all-in-all, he did really good with everything.

 dr appointment today

well, i have my doctor appointment today to do the colopscopy (sp?). i was supposed to go in on the 9th, but mother nature decided that she wanted to come visit that weekend so we had to reschedule. i'm almost glad that it was postponed. for a normal pap it takes about 10 days to get results. if it takes the same amount of time, i would have found out right about this time the results of my test and if the news was bad i would be worrying about that and not about having a happy christmas with my son.

hopefully, there is nothing seriously wrong. i hate to even think what they could find. so pray for me. i know i will be.

 i don't even think so!

Ms. Tee and I were talking to one of the mothers this morning at the daycare and telling her about mikhai and how he is trying to walk and it won't be much longer. the lady told me that "if the kid is trying to get mocing really fast, they're making room for another one" oh, hell no! i'm NOT having another one! at least not for a very long time!!!! lol i've actually had a couple people tell me that when i tell them how fast mikhai is doing things. in my case that won't work, cuz it takes two to tango and i'm only one.

speaking of two to tango. i think i found the address for mikhai's father's parents. now i just have to figure out how to go about this. do i:
*send him a letter telling him that i bore a child and not give details and say if he wants to know what the child is that he can get in touch with me?
*send a letter giving details, sex of the child, name, birth details, etc.?
*not do anything but serve him with paperwork for child support?

i'm pretty set in knowing that i want to have him find out, but now it's just deciding which road i want to take.
